XLam are committed to a testing program which seeks to deepen the market understanding of the key phenomenon affecting mass timber buildings. As we evolve from a CLT manufacturer into Mass Timber Solutions provider we find ourselves more involved in testing other systems and even other timber products (in this case glulam).
In this test completed recently at CSIRO in Sydney we were examining the factors affecting the post-fire behaviour and self-extinguishment of glulam post/beam connections. There were some interesting results from first observations and we would be happy to share more details on this test and others to discuss how they might impact your next mass timber building
Thanks to the partners below for their assistance and support in the testing.
