WoodWorks 2022

Event Summary

Over 300 engineered wood design and construction delegates attended the 7th annual WoodWorks 2022 conference. The key focus was on growth in mass timber technology developments, both within New Zealand and internationally, which included LVL and CLT, prefabrication and connection systems in commercial buildings. Early advantages of mass timber construction have included accuracy, early contractor engagement and speed of construction. It is also now recognised that wood’s advantages are in creating biophilic environments and long-term carbon-friendly sustainability projects.

The WoodWorks 2022 Conference showcased practical experiences and included inspirational wood experts from leading tall timber exemplar building projects overseas. Case studies included the mass timber-built Auckland City Mission, the ABS Project Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Oakhill College in Australia, Arlignton Project Apartment and many more. Delegates also got to visit the new CLT Plant from Red Stag Wood Solutions.
