Adoption of the new Detailed Connection Design to the NZS AS 1720.1 Standard. 
Divided over two sessions throughout the day, gain expert insight on some of the changes on the detailed connection design such as the European Yield Model (EYM) and brittle failures modes. After introducing the theoretical background and design equations, practical calculation examples will be presented.

Introduction to the seismic design of timber structures to the NZS AS 1720.1 Standard. 
Hear from a timber and seismic engineering expert on the introduction of a specific chapter on seismic design of timber structures. Considerations around building ductility, capacity design and overstrength will be presented.

Designing of timber structures for fire resistance to AS/NZS 1720.4
This session covers the latest standard update regarding the design of timber structures in a fire event. A leading structural fire engineer will provide learnings and effective ways to manage fire design of members and connections in timber structures.

Also covered will be key product developments and new product offerings from leading suppliers servicing the New Zealand market. We will also share updates from the Timber Design Society and the newly established Timber Design Centre. This event will also be a great opportunity to network with other designers.
