
Techlam supplying the glulam components and systems for New Zealand’s largest mass timber office building – Tauranga City Council’s new six-star Green Star office building, 90 Devonport Road to feature Techlam Glulam product. This project is a collaboration between, Willis Bond, Warren & Mahoney, mana whenua, Beca, LT McGuinness, Dunning Thornton, Red Stag TimberLab & many more.
Techlam are looking forward to beginning the manufacture of the featured glulam products. Over 58m3 of Techlam product is going into this project, and it’s paired with other sustainable and engineered timber products from various New Zealand suppliers.
This will be New Zealand’s largest mass timber office building. It not only uses engineered timber to achieve a Green Star rating, but other features such as rainwater harvesting technology, EV charging, and extensive end-of-trip facilities to encourage low-carbon commuting options are being installed and implemented — this structure will set a new standard for low-carbon structures in NZ.
