New Ottawa Public Library Continues to Take Shape

11 June 2024

As Ādisōke, the new Ottawa Public Library – Library and Archives Canada joint facility, continues to take shape and grow, it is already delivering on its promise to be a model of sustainability in Canada. This 5-storey project is targeting Net-Zero Carbon and LEED Gold certification, and includes large-scale use of natural materials, reclaimed wood, solar cells on rooftop panels, as well as sequestered carbon in the concrete.

The project, which topped out in November, is currently undergoing work on the curved roof which comprises NLT decking supported by glulam beams and steel branches. Additionally, the installation of the steel façade along the exterior of the building is also nearing completion.
