Nelson apartment project granted special housing status in 2019 is getting underway, and is hoped to be completed in under two years, barring unexpected Covid-19 delays. Vining Investment Properties director Tony Vining said despite the “frustrating” effects of Covid-19, the build had started and had an expected timeline of about a year and a half.
The proposed apartment block at 71 Haven Rd is set to provide about 31 one or two-bedroom apartments in a six-storey building, including three two-bed penthouses, with the first storey dedicated for parking. Vining said 13 of the 31 apartments would be pinned to the affordable bracket, which in Nelson was just below $600,000.
