Housing affordability – A select committee report is due back this week on a bill reforming regulations for apartments, townhouses and other types of high-density property. As more home buyers look at apartments due to sky-high house prices, the bill aims to make high density living more attractive. Main changes include greater disclosure about a building to prospective buyers including financial records, general body corporate minutes and details of insurance cover, and improvements to the professionalism of body corporate managers, including requiring them to be members of an industry organisation.
